Jack: Michael Mauro’s main plan is to make elections run more smoothly. He is the incumbent and is now working hard to make polling stations handicap accessible. He is also working a lot in the technology field, like making online businesses better so even when your employees are sick they can still work from home. He is also trying to save taxpayers money on stuff like technology. Michael Mauro recently got national attention because Iowa ranked 1st in a national poll on easing overseas voting for people who are in the military or people who live in the U.S but are currently overseas.
Andy: Matt Schultz thinks that he will be able to make job openings more frequent. Using advanced technology to make machines, they can make jobs run smoother. He also plans to let everyone in Iowa to have a chance to get a job. He thinks that Michael Mauro is tearing the Secretary of state position apart. He wants to make voting easier by forcing you to show some sort of photo ID before you vote.

Michael Mauro graduated from Drake University. He was a former High School government teacher and a coach. He served as the Polk county auditor for 9 years. In 2003 he was elected Iowa’s Secretary of State. Michael Mauro has been married for 35 years and has 3 children and 5 grand children.
