IDOPS- indirect object pronouns
The indirect object (IDOP) tells us where the direct object (DOP) is going.

I gave the book to maria. What did you give? (DOP) Who did you give it to (IDOP) My mother writes me every week. What do you write? (DOP- A letter is assumed) Who do you write it to? (IDOP- me)

I bought you the dog. Buy= comprar The dog = el perro Yo compré el perro para ti.

DOP: What did I buy? The dog= lo (masc. sing) IDOP: Who did I buy it for? you (te= to you) Yo te lo compré.

You can’t Le lo in Mexico.
No two “ L’s” can go together NO LE LO NO LE LA NO LES LO NO LES LA

When we have two “L’s”, the le changes to a se:
We bought it (the book) for him. Nosotros le lo compramos. Nosotros se lo compramos.

Ejemplo I bought it for him. Yo LE LO compre. YO SE LO COMPRE.

My mom buys me the blue T-shirt. We buy my friend the tall boots. I sell my socks to her. You sell them the blouses.
