1 Weekly Objectives Students will determine the meaning of unfamiliar words using context clues. Students will write for a variety of purposes and audiences using the Standard English conventions of grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation. Students will understand and utilize Choices Planner to familiarize themselves with Media Center technology and career choices. Students will understand and apply some of the conventions of Standard English grammar usage, and mechanics. Students will use various reading strategies to help them monitor their comprehension. Students will examine characterization in a short story.
