Music Year B 2015-16 FS2, Year 1 and 2:
Using Active Music, the children will be participating in songs, games and activities which address: Singing games, rhythm and pulse Pitch instrumental exploration The themes are repeated every year but increase in their complexity from Reception, through year 1 to year 2. Year 5 and 6: The children will learn to play the recorder for 3 terms and study general class music for 3 terms. Learning to play the recorder. Lessons delivered by professional musicians from Swindon Music service. This will involve correct positioning of fingers, reading rhythms & reading notes on the stave to produce melodies. The elements of music: rhythm, melody, tonality, harmony, metre,& texture will be taught as the children attempt increasingly complex pieces of music. Class Music year 5: Using music express children will: Singing: Explore rounds “Roundabout” Music appreciation: explore rhythm and pulse through cyclic patterns Composing: Learn how to use musical instruments to convey an effect “Journey into space” Class music year 6: using Music express children will: Music appreciation: explore The Blues “Songwriter” Composing: Learn how to compose music using ICT programme “Garageband” using i-pads.The elements of music: rhythm, melody, tonality, harmony, metre,& texture will be taught as the children attempt to compose increasingly complex pieces of music. Year 3 and 4: The children will learn to play the recorder for 3 terms and study general class music for 3 terms. Learning to play the recorder.
