Describe What? When? Where? Who? Use Evidence Effects: What happened because something occurred. Location, Places, Dates, Effects

7 What do the questions mean?
EXPLAIN WHY? HOW? Cause: Why something happened? Use diagrams and give examples. Name places, plate boundaries and Features to explain why or how things happen in a particular place.

8 What do the questions mean?
DISTRIBUTION The spread or pattern Link this to other information shown by the maps E.g. Earthquakes occur along the plate boundaries. They are clustered around…(Give examples of the places)

9 What do the questions mean?
HUMAN FEATURES Places and characteristics of a place made by people. E.g. towns, airports, roads PHYSICAL FEATURES Natural characteristics e.g. Hills, mountains, rivers, volcanoes

10 What do the questions mean?
JUSTIFY Explain your answer: WHY? Why is one thing more important than another? Why is it a priority?

11 Hints… Give detailed answers.
Make a point, give evidence, explanation, explore or link ideas for every mark available in the question. Use the map inserts to help you. Use the maps and their keys to help you identify information. E.g. The magnitude of earthquakes and location in relation to other places. Use compass directions to show directions.
