Change from One Comms Type to Another
Automated service switching: Change from One Comms Type to Another Broadband Satellite When a signal is detected, Uplogix instructs the router to switch from the satellite modem to the WiMAX modem. In addition, Uplogix can instruct the switch to change access to different parts of the onboard network. Uplogix can broker the switch from one communications system to another based on pre-set rules. For example, changing from VSAT to WiMAX. Blockage zone detection and alerting: Predicting and Notifying Ahead of Outages
As a vessel’s heading nears a blockage zone, Uplogix can send out an alarm alerting the service provider. Blockage zones like the funnel on a vessel are at a known location relative to the antenna, and can be predicted. Alarm over the network: Vessel antenna approaching a blockage zone. Alarm over out-of-band: Vessel antenna is in a blockage zone. ©2010 Uplogix, Inc. | uplogix.com
