1 The Waverley Werewolves
The Waverley Werewolves Chapter 16

2 As they were leaving the hotel dining room, after they had finished their evening meal, Brian and Toby saw the tour guide sitting in the reception area. "Hello", said Brian, "You took our class on a ghostly tour when we arrived in Edinburgh." "Yes", said the guide, "I remember. I take it you have not had any nightmares and that you are sleeping well." "We have not had any bad dreams", said Toby, "it's the werewolves that have kept us awake with their howling." The boys told the guide that they had seen a figure that looked like a wolf, howling, on the building opposite the hotel.

3 "If I could find out who is pretending to be a wolf", said the guide, in a voice that sounded very different from his tour voice, "I would soon stop him. It really is bad for business, frightening tourists." "What happened to your voice?", asked Brian. It turned out that the tour guide was called Thomas and that he lived in London. "I come up here for the holiday season", he said, "and lead the ghostly tours. It's good fun and ghost stories always sound better when you tell them in a pretend Transylvanian accent." "So, you don't think pretend werewolves are much fun?", asked Toby. "No way", said Thomas. "They have been howling for the past couple of weeks and it's putting tourists off from doing ghost walks in the Square."

4 At that moment the Edinburgh bikers joined them
At that moment the Edinburgh bikers joined them. "Ah, gentlemen", said Thomas, in his Transylvanian accent, "it is good to see you. I hope that you do not suffer from any heart conditions. or that you are easily frightened." He led the bikers out into the Square for the start of their ghostly tour. "Thanks", said Brian to Stewart. "That gave us the chance to speak to the tour guide." "If I find out any other information from him, I'll let you both know", said Stewart, disappearing into the darkness. As they walked up the stairs to their bedroom, Toby said, "I think the answer to the werewolf mystery is somewhere in the Square. There must be something there, during the night,  that someone does not want people to see." As they walked along the dim, creaky corridor to their room, a hairy, claw-like hand reached out and touched them on the shoulder. Both of them screamed and ran to their room, barricading the door behind them. They did not see Andrew walking back up the corridor, taking off his glove that looked like a claw-hand and laughing. "I have waited all week to do that", he said to himself.
