4. Rationale: What changes did we want to see:
A clear methodology for working with families – harnessing their strengths as well as identifying concerns/dangers/worries
Being explicit and consistent in the way we make decisions – transparency of analysis, strong planning and shared goals
Working with families to help them change – not doing to families
Strong voice of child and parents affecting work
Social workers as agents of change – engaging despite denial…
Working with compassion - less punitive in our approach
Congruence with our ambition to become a learning organisation

86% were able to take a full & active role
89% understood what people were worried about
86% understood what needed to happen for the plan to end

7. Next Steps: Building our own network of support
The LSCB is part of our network of support where we want to co-construct with partners a plan for the future that is based on a strong asset/strengths based way of working which focuses on the principles of good practice.
What needs to happen to secure the engagement of partners – so that they can contribute well in new ways of working and develop alongside the LA?
How do we ensure that our policy and procedures support the practice we want to see?
