Add next date to the calendar Tells class what the date is: “Today is [day], [month and date], [year]!” Then add stick to help count the number of days in school Ask the class “Calendar Questions”: How many days until Saturday? What days was it 3 days ago? How many months are in a year? How many weeks in a month? Add a tally mark to count the number of days in school so far Then we would count together the days so far of the month. Word Man (Tune; I Know An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly) – I know an old man, who swallowed a word. What would he say if he swallowed this word? (Kids read word.) That’s absurd! (Make crazy signals with hands.) Sight Word/s of the Week Write words on index cards and hold up as you sing
