2. Notebook Entry Title: Citizenship
Reference your Unit 1 Vocabulary. Re- read the definition of citizen.
At your table groups, discuss the role of the citizen/examples of citizenship
In your notebook, You will create a Circle Map. Citizenship goes in the center and you will add 4 or more examples of citizenship in the outer circle.
Be prepared to share.

4. Step 2: Expert Groups
Conference with another student who read the same article as you.
Together, come up with a summary (15 words or less) that you will be able to share.
Write this summary on your document and BOX or HIGHLIGHT it.

5. Step 3: Pair and Share Pair up with a student who read the other side.
Take turns to summarize your assigned reading for your partner.
Together, work to complete the Double- Bubble Map.

Read through the class copy of Citizenship in the United States.
Choose one Classical civilization (Greece or Rome) and compare the role of the citizen to that of a modern American.
Create a graphic organizer of your choice to display similarities and differences (at least three of each).
