A Godly Father has a Personal Relationship with His Children. A Godly Father Chastises His Children. 1 Kings 11:11Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.  1 Kings 11:14 And the LORD stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king's seed in Edom.  1 Kings 11:23 And God stirred him up another adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah, which fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah:

A Godly Father has a Personal Relationship with His Children. A Godly Father Chastises His Children. Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?  Chasteneth – to train up a child. Scourgeth – to flog.

Pro 23:13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. 23:14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell. 1. The Bible does not advocate the abuse of children. 2. Corporal Discipline is most effective in the early years. Pro 13:24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes. Pro 19:18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.

Psa 103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. 14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. Psa 86:5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
