The very first models (1983-1994)
A Motorola DynaTAC 8000X (First commercially available mobile phone from 1984) Several prototypes were made between and 1983 Weight was about 1kg, height about 25cm Duration of first call was 13 minutes

1989 MOTOROLA MICROTAC 9800X The First truly portable smartphone
Previously phones were too large to fit them into pocket

1992 - Nokia NOKIA 1011 First Nokia's mobilephone
This was the first mass-produced GSM phone At that time the device cost about 2500 DM (1800E) Weight was about 460g Dimensions 195 x 60 x 45mm

The „Push button era “ (1994- 2002+)
In this era, there were a many companies producing mobile phones Every mobile phone had its own design (colour, shape, construction) Mobile phones started to be affordable for „everyone“ By the late 1990s, mobile devices were fast becoming the norm First mobile phones with internet acces were developed in this era

It was the golden age of European manufacturers, contest between Nokia (Finland), Alcatel (France), Philips (Netherlands), Ericsson (Sweden) or Siemens (Germany) USA was reprezented by Motorola

Nokia This Finnish company was one of the biggest and the most advanced mobilephone companies in this era During this era Nokia had greatest financial incomes High build quality of devices High number of sold devices

1994 – Nokia 2110 First model with famous „Nokia tune“ - wich comes from a song Gran Vals by Francisco Tárrega (1992)

2000 -Nokia 3310 The most widespread mobile phone all around the World Also today we can see this model in use relatively low price, good battery life, durability, and compact for its time Legend between mobile phones

Many more devices from this era and this brand are still in use today. There were newer push button devices made by Nokia in later years.

Those devices were very expensive, but around Nokia came with their bussines models runnig on Symbian OS, which were less expensive, smaller and support all important funcions for managers Those devices became popular also for common people

There were many companies using WM For example HTC, HP, Acer, Asus It was golden era for those companies …..But everything once ends

The „Iphone era“ (2007+) Iphone was released in 2007 and it was a revolution in smartphone technologies Until then smartphones and pda were operated primarily using stylus, but iphone could have been operated using the tips of fingers This device was running on iOS CEO of Microsoft reprobated Apple for such a risky step, becouse it was expensive and impractical

Instead Iphone experienced boom in sales and media exposure
Became best selling devices all the time Wich caused eventual financial problems for other brands that didnt react well to the changes of market

Other companies changed accordingly to the demand of the market
Google their own operating system, wich other brands started using own devices

Android OS First device running on this OS was made by HTC
It was HTC Dream, with sliding-out keyboard HTC Dream started new Android era Then Samsung became with their Galaxy S series, which was fair competitor for Iphone Galaxy S series became popular amoung many smartphone users

Windows Phone Reaction to Iphone from the side of Microsoft was Windows Phone OS Nokia was interested and switched to Windows Phone, becouse Symbian was an outdated platform Then Nokia was bought out by Microsoft (Lumia) But It turted out to be their finnal mistake and Nokia became bankrupt

Present In recent years smartphone market dramaticaly changed thanks to new comeptitors from China though Samsung and Apple still remains on the top When it comes to operating system market is dominated solely by Android and iOS
