The prophets brought hope to the Israelites during the troubled times. Prophets emphasized they should please God by leading good moral lives and helping others

Assyrians were known to destroy the buildings and scatter the populations of the kingdoms they conquered.

In 722 BC the Assyrians conquered Israel and scattered the 10 tribes across the Assyrian Empire

The tribes of Judah lost contact with the Israelites who were forced to move. Became known as “The Lost Tribes of Israel.”

The Assyrians brought people from elsewhere to live in Samaria. A new culture developed with the Israelites. The Samaritans developed many of the beliefs of the Israelites.

Why Judah Fell Soon another Israelite king was planning another revolt against the Chaldeans. The Prophet Jeremiah warned against this uprising.

Why Judah Fell In 586 The Chaldeans crushed the uprising in Jerusalem, destroyed the temple, and took thousands of Israelites back to Babylon. This became known as the “Babylonian Captivity.” 3-2B
