1 Making righteous decisions for a Christ–filled Life.
What Should I Do? Making righteous decisions for a Christ–filled Life. Taken from a short article by Jarrod Jacobs, (The Old Paths, 9/25/11) Preached as West Side, November 20, 2011 AM Print Slides: 1,15,17

2 What Should I do? Will God bless my decision? (Proverbs 10:22)

3 Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it. It is wonderful to be pleasing to the One who is ultimately in control!

4 What Should I do? Will God bless my decision? (Proverbs 10:22)
Can I thank God for it? (Colossians 3:17)

5 Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Note: To truly be “able” to thank God, what is done must be in his name.

6 What Should I do? Will God bless my decision? (Proverbs 10:22)
Can I thank God for it? (Colossians 3:17) Am I doing this for God’s glory? (1 Corinthians 10:31)

7 1 Corinthians 10:31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Note: To truly be doing all to God’s glory, what is done must be in his name.

8 What Should I do? Will God bless my decision? (Proverbs 10:22)
Can I thank God for it? (Colossians 3:17) Am I doing this for God’s glory? (1 Corinthians 10:31) Will it cause others to stumble? (1 Corinthians 8:13)

9 1 Corinthians 8:13 Therefore, if food makes my brother stumble, I will never again eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble. The law of love precludes my bringing harm to another by my actions.

10 What Should I do? Will God bless my decision? (Proverbs 10:22)
Can I thank God for it? (Colossians 3:17) Am I doing this for God’s glory? (1 Corinthians 10:31) Will it cause others to stumble? (1 Corinthians 8:13) Am I doing it to please God? (Colossians 3:23; Galatians 1:10)

11 Colossians 3:23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men. Too often we seek to be “men-pleasers” rather than concentrating on pleasing God.

12 Galatians 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

13 What Should I do? Will God bless my decision? (Proverbs 10:22)
Can I thank God for it? (Colossians 3:17) Am I doing this for God’s glory? (1 Corinthians 10:31) Will it cause others to stumble? (1 Corinthians 8:13) Am I doing it to please God? (Colossians 3:23; Galatians 1:10) What will the consequences be? (Galatians 6:7)

14 Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. Nothing is worth jeopardizing your eternal standing with God!

15 What Should I do? Will God bless my decision? (Proverbs 10:22)
Can I thank God for it? (Colossians 3:17) Am I doing this for God’s glory? (1 Corinthians 10:31) Will it cause others to stumble? (1 Corinthians 8:13) Am I doing it to please God? (Colossians 3:23; Galatians 1:10) What will the consequences be? (Galatians 6:7) Would you want to be doing it at Christ’s return? (Matthew 24:44)

16 Matthew 24:44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

17 Conclusion Study God’s will, and always live your life by the principles revealed therein.
