ELIGIBILITY These rules apply to all students that participate in athletics or fine arts. In order to travel to events or participate in home events, students must be in school at least half of the day prior to that event

BHS ELIGIBILITY Pages 31-39 in BHS Handbook
HS: Passed 4 Classes the previous semester HS: Presently Enrolled in at least 4 classes working toward graduation. NEW FOR SCHOOL YEAR: BHS will have a Failing List similar to MS0pending Board Approval at the Aug. 14 school board meeting. Handbook Page 34.

MMS ELIGIBILITY Page 19 of BMS Handbook
Every Monday a new Grade Report will be produced. Any student below a 70% in a class will be placed on ALERT STATUS for one week. If a student is on the Grade Report in that same class for 2 or more weeks, they ineligible to compete until the next Grade Report. Students will attend practice after attending ICU Students may not travel to Away Events

Please Read entire policy at your convenience in effect 365 days a year and is cumulative over 4 year HS Career. evidence may come from law enforcement agencies, the courts, self-reports, parental reports, or staff members.

CODE OF CONDUCT-Policy
First Violation- 6 weeks (30 school days) or 4 events. Second offense - 12 weeks (60 school days) or 8 events. Third offense-12-month suspension Third offense - 24 weeks (120 school days) or 16 events. Violations are cumulative for HS Career. A self-report within 24 HRS. of violation may result in a ½ deduction in the penalty.

Controlled Substances
SDCL Controlled Substances & Marijuana First Violation - ineligible for SDHSAA participation for one year from the date of legal adjudication. Second Violation - permanently ineligible for SDHSAA participation

Lettering Policy Varsity Letter-criteria left up to individual Sport Coaches Three Sport Letter/Participation Recognition. Top Dog Award: Participate in 12 HS Sports Seasons or Letter 12 times in 7-12 Grade
