Eugine Istomin -American pianist(Nov. 26, 1925~Oct. 10, 2003)
-Born in New York city of Russian parents -famous for his work in piano trio, with Stern and Rose -particularly of music by Beethoven, Brahms, & Schubert -studied under Serkin and Horszowski -in 1943, debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra with Eugene Ormandy, playing a concerto by Chopin -Grammy Award in 1970 with the trio, for the recording of Beethoven -married Marta Montanez Martinez(Marta Casals Istomin), the widow of Pablo Casals, on Feb. 15, she is a former president of the Manhattan School of Music and former artistic director of the Kennedy Center -received the French Legion d’honneur in 2001 -died of liver cancer in 2003

Isaac Stern -Isaac Stern (Jul. 21, 1920~Sept. 22, 2001)
-Ukrainian-born violinist, Russian, Jewish family -moved to San Francisco at the 14th months old -received the music lessons from his mother and studied at San Francisco Conservatory -public debut on Feb. 18, 1936 at age 15 and played Saint-Saens Violin Concerto No.3 in B minor -Among his discoveries were Yo-Yo Ma, Jian Wang, Itzhak Perlman, and Pinchas Zukerman -Fiddler on the Roof is dubbed by him -in 1979, official visit to China when Nixon went to PRC -died of heart failure at 81

Leonard Rose -Leonard Rose (Jul. 27, 1918~Nov. 16, 1984)
-American cellist and pedagogue -born in Washington, D.C., his parents were immigrants from Kiev, Ukraine -studied at Philadelphia’s Curtis Institute of Music and joined Arturo Toscanini’s NBC Symphony Orchestra at age 20 -At 21, he was principal cellist of the Cleveland Orchestra -At 26 was principal of the New York Philharmonic. -his pupils are Lynn Harrell, Yo-Yo Ma, Myung-wha Chung, so many etc…. -1662 Amati
