1 EXAM THEME: Food To prepare for the 10 hour making exam you are advised to complete all the se classwork and homework tasks. These tasks are planned to cover the four Assessment Objectives. This is a timetable showing how classwork and homework is organised to help you manage your time and be prepared. REMEMBER! Being prepared will help you to succeed. CLASSWORK LESSON HOMEWORK TO BE COMPLETED BY Mind-map about Food. Research into the theme of ‘Food’. (internet, books, photocopies, travel brochures, fabric swatches). Make a moodboard & annotation (AO1, AO3) 1 05/02/15 Observational drawings (chiaroscuro, organic line, cross-hatching, dots, blended). Present and annotate research. (AO1, AO3) 12/02/15 Research into suitable artists’. Make a moodboard & annotation (AO1, AO3) 2 Present and annotate research. 26/02/15 Printing techniques 1 - blending, texture rubbing. Present samples in sketchbook & evaluate. Blending on background fabric (AO2, AO3) 3 Draw the work of Danielle Budd and/or Deirdre Hawken (colour or shading) Annotation. 05/03/15 Printing techniques 2 – stencil printing. Experiment with formats - linear, rotational, over-printing. (AO1, AO2, AO3) 4 Textiles techniques – layered applique, couching. 5 12/03/15 Draw the work of Susan Penny and/or Wayne Thiebaud (colour or shading). Textiles techniques – ruffles, walleting. 6 19/03/15 Develop first design ideas for tops + annotate(link to artist research) + evaluate. Develop 4 design ideas for tops (based on artist & theme). Annotate/evaluate (AO1, AO3) 7 26/03/15 Develop design ideas for tops (decorative edge) + annotate. 6/7 09/04/15 Develop chosen design – colour, fabrics, techniques. Draw/photograph (AO1, AO2, AO3) 8 Sketchbook targets. 17/04/15 Blending on background fabric. Complete preparation (AO2) 9 Write plan of action. Complete sketchbook targets (AO3) 24/04/15 EXAM Dates: 20/04/15 – 21/04/15 – 22/04/15 – 23/04/15 (you will do two of these dates.)

2 Assessment Objectives: Food Your sketchbook work and your final outcome will be marked against the four Assessment Objectives. The classwork and homework tasks are planned to cover the four Assessment Objectives. Each classwork and homework task have the Assessment Objectives clearly identified. By completing all of the classwork and homework tasks you are giving yourself more opportunity to achieve higher marks. REMEMBER! Being prepared will help you to succeed. Your teachers are always available to give you help and advice when you need it. ASSESSMENT OBJECTIVE 1 Develop ideas – link to research into artists This is evidenced by research into the theme and suitable artists (drawings, collected pictures and written notes). This is evidenced by doing samples and drawing ideas that link to your research. This is evidenced by written notes explaining how you have used your research in your ideas and samples. ASSESSMENT OBJECTIVE 2 Develop ideas – choose suitable media/techniques This is evidenced by experimenting with suitable textile techniques. This is evidenced by developing samples that use more than one technique. This is evidenced by drawing ideas using different media/, shading techniques. This is evidenced by photo graphs that show how your final outcome has develop during making. This is evidenced by written evaluations and suggested improvements. ASSESSMENT OBJECTIVE 3 Record ideas – show how well you can record ideas and observations.. This is evidenced by detailed drawings. This is evidenced by your own photos. This is evidenced by detailed and well made samples. This is evidenced by detailed annotation explaining your research, ideas and samples. This is evidenced by detailed evaluations. ASSESSMENT OBJECTIVE 4 Make final outcome based on prep-work This is evidenced by a well-made final outcome. This is evidenced by an original final outcome that clearly links to your prep work. This is evidenced by a final outcome that has an original, challenging and well-balanced design. The final outcome is completed within the 10 hours.
