MN State High School Clay Target League
MN State High School Clay Target League “MSHSCTL” The purpose is to attract students to shooting sports while creating a friendly competition among high schools throughout Minnesota . Our weekly leagues allow high school teams from across the state to compete in sport shooting.

Skeet Fundamentals High and Low house 25 shots from 8 stations.
Total 25 target / person - One shooter at time: Stations 1,2,6,7: Singles: High, Low. Than a Double! Stations 3,4,5,8. Singles (High, low) Repeat first miss, or shoot low house at station 8 for 25 total.

Trap Fundamentals -16 Yard from trap house -5 Shot at each Stations .
Total 25 target / person -Targets leave house 23o from center -Target traveling at mph Squad Leader!! (starts at station 1) Commands must be followed

Safety Is Of Utmost Importance:
1. Guns Racked until ready to shoot 2. Always point Muzzle in safe direction 3. Action Open until ready to shoot. (don’t close early) 4. Only 1 shell loaded at a time 5. Eye Protection 6. Ear Protection

Penalties For violating the previous Rules:
1st violation: Student will be sent home. 2nd violation: Student will be removed from the team with no refund and will not be able to appeal a return. Need to be safe at all times!!!

Appropriate Attire: 1. TOPS: Items of clothing that expose any part of the torso are prohibited. These include cutoff T-shirts, halter tops, tank tops etc. 2. BOTTOMS: Short shorts and low riding shorts or pants revealing undergarments are prohibited. 3. FOOTWEAR: flip-flops or open shoes/sandals are prohibited. Violation may be grounds for disqualification. Dress appropriately for the weather. We will be competing in sun, rain, wind, snow- what ever the day brings- Jackets, hats & gloves are always a good idea to have on hand.

Firearm Transportation
All Firearms must be transported in accordance with State & Federal transportation laws. Firearms on any Public Schools campus is strictly prohibited. Any student in violation of these rules would be subject to local, state and federal penalties.

Who Eligible? Must have DNR Firearm Safety Certificate.
Student in Grade 9-12. Making academic progress toward graduation. Sign Code of Conduct pertaining to Drugs/ academics.

Code of Conduct I, _____________________________________, agree to adhere to the Blaine (print name) Clay Target Team Code of Conduct as well as the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League’s Policies and Procedures. I will continue to be making academic progress toward graduation. I will not have dropped out of school or repeated a grade while in high school. I have not or will not use or possess tobacco or alcoholic beverages, use, consume, have in possession, buy, sell or give away any other controlled substance, including steroids or drug paraphernalia. I will not violate any racial/religious/sexual harassment/violence/or hazing rules or laws. I will refrain from using abusive or profane language or display unsportsmanlike conduct. I will adhere to all gun range rules and regulations. I will come prepared to all events including; a properly maintained shot gun, hearing and eye protection and proper attire & foot wear.

How to Join??? Even Returning Members Need to Rejoin
Legibly print your name and address… Sign Code of Conduct Form. (new members) $ check made out to Blaine Trap Booster Club. ($282 for both skeet and trap)

How to Join??? NEW MEMBERS will receive an with a link and code to access “Blaine High School” on the MSHSCTL website. You need to complete all the required forms to be eligible.

How to earn a “Varsity” Letter **Spring Season Only**
Abide by the Code of Conduct. Participate in all 5 competition weeks. Must average 19 or more points per round in competition play at the end of the season

Cost of Registration and Participation
$25.00 – MSHSCTL Administration cost for running the entire league. $ Metro Gun Club - Clay targets for 6 weeks. $ Booster Club Fee Additional Expenses: * Ammunition * Personal Ear and Eye protection * Personal shell pouch-optional * T-Shirts / Shooting vest / Hats –optional

Required Safety Meeting:
Wednesday Sept. 16th 6:00 – 7:00 pm Metro Gun Club We will review Firearm Safety and everything you need to know about Clay Target Shooting.

Blaine Trap Shooting Booster Club
All parents of athletes are automatically voting members of the booster club. Meeting notices and other information is communicated and shared through . Meetings are typically held once per month throughout the year. Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate. Various events and fundraisers are done throughout the year and monies raised go for things such as league fees, team apparel, refreshments at the state meet, and more. As voting members you have a choice as to how the money is spent. We invite you to be involved and help the organization and team become something even bigger and greater at B.H.S.!

Adult Volunteers Needed:
Supervisors: - Monitor students who are not shooting. Coaches: - Assists students on the range emphasizing proper gun safety and providing tips on how to improve their performance. Range Safety Official: - Monitor the safe handling of firearms on and off the range. All coaches and volunteers are required to meet the necessary background check by Anoka Hennepin School District: Get your forms today!!!
