Metered Madness Innovations 2017
2
Meter Types Increasing Incremental Variable Pre-Defined
Increasing – Odometer, Runtime Hours Incremental – Fuel dispensed Variable – Temperature, Pressure Pre-Defined – On/Off, Yes/No/Maybe

Some customers use Reading Spreadsheets
Hints & Tips PMs should always have a Calendar Frequency to catch PMs that are missed from reading route Meter Reading routes used to collect readings should show current reading to catch broken meters Some customers use Reading Spreadsheets Use Meter Reading Validation Formulas to detect 'bad' readings Example: Customer had equipment that was using Hour Meter. Same reading was entered for several months. PMs never generated. Operator complained that PMs were not being performed. User taking readings never noticed the Meter was broken. Use a Formula on spreadsheet and on Meter record
4
Meter Data Collection PLC Meter Reading table provided to insert readings from other systems directly into CHAMPS database Mobile Meter Reading function inserts rows into the PLC Meter Reading table New Meter Reading Report processes readings and validates them using same logic as online Meter Reading 1. MPW collects data in self-validating spreadsheet and imports rows - also used for fuel metering ?????? 2. MPW reads meters on a Thursday - almost never a holiday and creates PM by next Monday ?????
5
How Meter PMs Work Setup PM to Trigger by 1YR+ Calendar Frequency Add existing Meter to PM and set Trigger Value Perform Meter Readings - If Reading meets PM/Meter Trigger Value the Next Due Date is set to Today. PM Next Trigger is updated.
6
The PM will appear at top of PM Browse and could be Tasked On Demand
How Meter PMs Work The PM will appear at top of PM Browse and could be Tasked On Demand The next PM Duelist should pick up the PM as a candidate and generate it into a Work Order Checking the PM Browse immediately after entering Meter readings helps create the WO sooner than waiting for the next Duelist to be created. Gets MRs created and gives better chance materials will be available.
7
Fixed Vs Float & Meters Float DEMANDS that you perform WO Step Completion - Cancelled is not same as Complete in versions prior to V13 Entering current Meter Reading from WO Step Completion
8
OOPS… and How to Fix it User enters invalid reading that tripped related PM Next Due Date - enter correct Reading and then reset related PM Next Due Date I'm confused by Rollover, how do I reset everything? - remove the Meter from the PM and re-add it with a new Next Trigger Value
9
The Meter Functional Gap
What is the Next Due Date on a Meter PM? How does the Next Due Date get updated? What if we are only 1 Hour/Mile from tripping the PM this week? Is it possible to predict the Next Due Date on a Meter PM?
10
Forecasting PM Meters Increasing & Incremental value Meters Meter Reading History must be turned ON Added 2 new graph reports Actual Readings by Meter & Date Range Reading Delta by Meter & Date Range Added Reading Analysis report Low, Avg, Total & Daily Avg Readings
11
How many Units until Trigger?
Forecasting PM Meters How many Units until Trigger? At this rate, How many Days until we trip the PM? What is the forecasted Next Due Date? Does user want to update PM Next Due Date with forecasted value? How many Forecasted Days? ( PM Trigger Value - Current Meter Reading ) / Daily Avg Forecasted Next Due Date? (Today + Forecasted Days)
12
The End How many Forecasted Days? ( PM Trigger Value - Current Meter Reading ) / Daily Avg Forecasted Next Due Date? (Today + Forecasted Days)
