The story of CARIN Result of a conference on the topic of proceeds of crime in Camden hotel in Ireland in 2002. An informal network was established, called CARIN, which is now part of Europol. It is a network of practitioners (on police and judiciary level) and experts with the intention of improving mutual knowledge on methodologies and techniques in the area of cross-border identification, freezing, seizure and confiscation of the proceeds from crime.

Observers: Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia

Website (open section)
A list of asset recovery vocabulary applicable in each country is stored on the open CARIN folder together with translation into a selected number of languages. A ‘Member Country’ page containing concise information relating to criminal asset issues. This will include reference to open sources of information available in each country. It also includes a synopsis of procedures, legislation and good practice and other relevant information supplied by each member. Information on where legislation can be viewed (for example web site links).

How to get access to the website
Send an from your office account (not Gmail, hotmail etc) to CARIN explaining your position and requesting access to the website. Membership or observer status is not needed for this, but then access only to the open section is given. If your country is a member or observer you will also be given to the closed section.
