Registering Your Child
If you have not registered your child for kindergarten, teachers will be available after the program to let you know what home school to go register your child .

Activities in Pre-K Your child built social-emotional skills.
Your child learned how to play cooperatively. Your child learned to solve their own problems in positive ways. Your child adjusted to being away from you, their parents. Your child learned to follow a structured schedule. Your child learned to follow classroom rules and expectations. Your child learned to make positive choices.

Activities in Kindergarten
Your child will learn to read. Your child will learn math skills. Your child will learn to write and illustrate stories. Your child will work independently and cooperatively in learning groups.

Daily Pre-K Schedule Free Choice Interest Areas- 135 minutes
Outside/Gross Motor-60 minutes Meals- 66 minutes Large Group Activities- 40 minutes Rest- 60 minutes

Daily Kinder Schedule Reading Time-83 minutes Writing Time-75 minutes
Math Time-45 minutes Word Study-20 minutes Science/Social Studies-45 minutes Circle Time-15 minutes Specials-40 minutes Meals-25 minutes (only lunch) Recess-23 minutes ***This is an example of a Kindergarten schedule and may not reflect the exact times of your child’s Kindergarten class.***

In Pre-K, students learn through play and exploration.
Kinder 60 minutes outside time 60 minutes of rest time 130 minutes of free choice centers 20-30 minutes of outside time 10-20 minute brain break 283 minutes of academic time In Pre-K, students learn through play and exploration. In Kindergarten, students apply the knowledge they have learned through exploration, to develop academically in fun and exciting ways.

Expectations of Parents
Help your child with their homework Check your child’s agenda every night Have an appropriate bed time routine for your child. Read a story Ensure your child arrives at school on time. Be sure you sign them in and or out if you happen to arrive late or pick up early. Feed them breakfast or ensure they arrive at school in time to eat breakfast.

Things to work on Sitting for periods of 10 minutes or longer
Object counting using one number per object the last number counted is the total number in the set Concepts of Print How to hold a book Parts of the book-Cover, back, spine, title page, characters Read from left to right Draw pictures to depict stories. Ask your child questions about the book you are reading.
