Types of Fat – pg 8 Saturated Fat Solid at Room Temperature
Found in animal and dairy products Too much can lead to heart disease Examples: butter, steak, cheese, whole milk

Mainly comes from plant sources Reduces risk of heart disease and can lower cholesterol Examples: vegetable oils, olive oil, nuts, avocados,fish

Linked to heart disease, strokes, and type 2 diabetes Also called: partially hydrogenated oils Examples: donuts, French fries, margarines, pie crust, cookies
