What is Friends of Scouting?
An annual campaign to help support the services provided by the local Scouting office. Services Service Centers Staff Support Records Maintenance Program Materials/ Program Planning Outdoor Adventures (Local & National) Insurance Camping Facilities Training for youth and adult leaders And much more…

Blue Mountain Council Budget
88% of expenses go towards program services

Cost of Scouting It costs the council about $175 a year to provide all of its services to support one youth for one year.

Where do the membership fees go?
Individual membership fees - $24.00 a year – go entirely to the National Council to provide the services of the National Council.

How to Work Your Campaign.
Prospect your members Ask Educate Have a team that can work 5-15 cards each. Do not leave the cards with the person, you will not get them back and will have to follow up yet again. Get done early and reap the rewards.

Flexible Options A donor may make a pledge with several options.
Billed monthly Billed later Billed Once Credit Card Pay Now Check/Cash Example: If someone wanted to donate in December then they can pledge now and have us bill them in December.

Tips for Filling Out the FOS Card
Please ensure the address is correct. If a donor writes a credit card #, please include a phone number as we will have to call for security measures. Please make sure to include the worker/unit # If a donor declines to donate, please mark the card as so and then turn it in. Turn pledges and donations in on a regular basis to prevent NSF Checks and billing problems

Donor Recognitions $175 or more and the donor receives a Friends of Scouting patch $250 or more the donor receives a patch and a plaque $1,000 or more the donor becomes a member of the Golden Eagle Club

Summary Ensure that everyone in the unit has an opportunity to donate by asking Have a team of campaign workers to help Fill out the pledge card completely and ensure accuracy Turn all cards in marked Get done early and reap the rewards.
