1 Dr. Piotr Piszczek, Associate Professor Chair of Inorganic and Coordination Chemistry Faculty of Chemistry, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland Nano-implant Ltd. Toruń, Poland Expertise in: Modification of the titanium/titanium alloy implants surface with the use of chemical and physical methods, such as: sol-gel, chemical oxidation, electrochemical oxidation, thermal oxidation, in order to create optimal osseointegration conditions Synthesis and spectral charactercterization of metal transition complexes, and their application in the fabrication of hybride materials Synthesis of biocompatible materials possesing antibacterial properties Production of metallic and metal oxide nanolayers with the use of chemical vapor deposition andt atomic layer deposition techniques Characterization of nanomaterial and biomedical materials with the use of instrumental analysis (XRD, XPS, SEM, AFM, EDX, TEM, Raman spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry (MS))

2 Expected benefits and activities during participation in BIONECA:
Share experience with the groups who works with the metallic implants surface modification in order to create the optimal biomaterial for the needs of: (a) neurology and (b) cardiology Share experience with the groups who works with the nanocomposite or hybrid materials in order to create the optimal biomaterial for the needs of: (a) neurology implants and (b) cardiology implants Would like to learn from groups who are experienced in optimization of the biomaterial synthesis pathway for the needs of: (a) neurology implants and (b) cardiology implants Would like to share experience in 3D printing of implants Would like to learn about and propose design of new biomaterials for combined application with stem cells Would like to gather innovative combination of partners for new projects` applications Foreseen maximum contribution: in WG1 and WG2
