He had 2 brothers Hugh and Robert. Hugh died in the Battle of Stono Ferry in 1779, will Robert got captured by the British with Andrew Jackson. They developed the disease smallpox ( it was a disease a lot like the chicken pox, but back in the s it was a lot more deadly) which Robert didn’t recover from and ended up dying because of the disease. November 1779 Andrew Jackson was orphaned. His mother died of cholera when he was 14.
