Background The sports operation team is looking to utilise three screens on pillars within the sports centre that helps to promote the 'sports services' channel and what they have to offer. Within this project I am expected to produce six stock slides for sports services that will display their new services and help rebrand and sell the memberships Content: Viewers will only notice your message for a few seconds as they won't wait to stand reading the screens so fewer words are easier and effective to read and put across a message. The screens will act as a visual medium of communication to potential customers ; therefore each message must be accompanied by a strong image relating to each segmentation.

Stock Slide Requirements
All of the final stock slides must be generic and appropriate for the sports services. They must be set to a landscape layout of 1920W x 1080H pixels and a resolution of 72 in a jpg format making them suitable for the HD screens on the pillars to maintain focus and prevent stretching of finalised designs. Guidance and Requirements: -Image sources must be free usage or linked from sources if not to follow copyright requirements -Clear Headline followed with an eye-catching graphic to attract and maintain viewers attention and promote the services provided. -Service information kept simple with 3-4 words that work well -All of the layout designs to be generic and appropriate for sports services -Web address link on all posters to direct viewers to find more details

Target Audience and Objectives
Their primary audience is university students of Edge Hill. Therefore, the information must be simple and straight to the point in order for the student to be aware on what is available to them. There should be bright and bold visuals to attract the student’s attention and display what equipment and resources they can use or hire if they use Edge Hills sporting centre. In addition, there should be an array of sports on each slide to appeal to most personalities. Secondary audience is the general public who attend the sporting centre. A main reason the general public use Edge Hill is for the gym and the swimming bath however to increase in sales we need to promote the other classes that are on offer alongside them to give a better selection catered around each user to help them stay active. Objective: Due to students and the general public having busy lives, they won’t spend much time waiting to read the displays, therefore they must be simple with fewer words with large, bold information. Within this project, I must think about headline style phrases and visual positioning to produce a generic theme that represents Edge Hill University, thus promotes brand awareness of the sports centre and increase usage/sales of the services.

Ideas & Development

This slide included many bright visuals in the forefront which made it stand out against the faded background image. Bold writing was used for the Core message whilst a slightly smaller one was used for the Edgehill. The formation of the images are in the shape of an arrow with the leading lines pointing to each of the many activities provided by sports services. The poster includes the website like to find more information. A colour palette of red, black and white was used.

Adapted the layout design by moving the core message into the arrow pointing towards the visual imagery to what the sports services has to offer.

Increased the size of the Core Message and made it bolder to emphasise what sports services has to offer and to attract the viewers attention. Decreased the size of the arrow and changed a few of the images to see variation. Kept the same headline and Edgehill sports logo with website link. Added a small banner in the bottom right corner to add to the template design making it look like a corporate theme.

Added the phone line and address into the design with sub divisions of each section the campus sport provides. These sections are positioned in front of the sports centre building background which is transparent so that they become more eye catching. The use of green and blue images also contrast with the red overlay of the background again attracting to the viewer. The Headline text colour has been changed to white in this slide to stand out more and play with the development to reach a final product.

This design the images have became the forefront of the design to become more visible to the audience. The images have been positioned next to opposite contrasting images to stand out more this time with them being rectangular shaped vertical. The headline describes the different services Edgehill sport has to offer. The Using the banner from the previous design has been enlarged and positioned from the bottom left hand corner and reaches the top left hand corner to follow the corporate palette theme.

Again using the banner but this time in opposite corners acting as a frame for the images going on in the slide. The headline in the bottom right corner is not very visible against the backdrop and the core messages all look out of place in this design.

Again using leading lines with an arrow shaped design layout to drag the viewers attention of the services offers and directing them to the visual imagery of those activities and facilities. The Headline has been increased in size to promote the institute with the core messages decreased in size. The website link can be found underneath the arrow. All of the images have been situated on a grey and white radial backdrop to have the colour palette stand out more. Again the generic sports logo is used throughout the designs.

Trying out a colour variant of the arrow using purple which is used within the Edge hill logo. The colour makes the core messages stand out more with a white font text. The backdrop of the Edgehill crest is faded to not take the attention away from the vital information displayed to the viewers.

Final Designs

Within the final layout design I used the arrow to play with leading lines and direct the viewers attention to the imagery in the scene to promote what Edgehill have to offer. I also changed the colour back to red as it suited best with the Edgehill Crest and worked well contrasting with the white and black theme. A giant visual image was used to represent the Core Message (located within the arrow) followed by smaller images showing other facilities and activities alongside the left had section. I positioned the black and white Edgehill sports logo at the top left hand corner to not take away from the focal points of the design but to help make the overall design appear more corporate and professional looking. The website link can be found just below the arrow to find more information about sports services. The overall design is aesthetically pleasing and would appeal to the target audience as well as follows the guideline requirements for this project.

Variations of the generic layout design for each of the stock slides to give a visual representation of how the visual mediums would communicate to the viewer.

Mock up examples of how the customer feedback sheets would look like which customers could fill out after use of the sports services provided by Edge Hill University. The same colour palette is used and further information can be found via the contact details. Includes a section for participants to include their own contact details for any enquiries they may incur. Kept basic and simple for the customer to fill out and not seem like a tedious task also helping the sports services to improve on what they lack in.

A finalised version of the customer feedback design, this time the layout appears to be more corporate looking with the use of simple banners streaking across the layout against a grey backdrop rather than it being a plain simple white colour. The design looks professional and aesthetically pleasing making it suitable for the university.
