4 3.MONUMENTS Grand Friday Mosque: it dominates the skyline of Malé and it has become a symbol for the city. It was opened in 1984. 5 4.LANGUAGE The official language is “divehi”, but they also speak English at hotels and many other places.

6 5.TYPICAL MUSIC The most known music is the boduberu, a dance music.

8 7.COIN The Maldives coin is the Rufiyaa, but the tourists use the American dollar or the credit cards.

9 8.RELIGION The official religion is the Islam.
The law doesn’t let the people to be from other religion than Islam.
