JOŽE PLEČNIK Jože Plečnik was born in 1872 in Ljubljana.
In Gratz he was taught to be an artistic carpenter and furniture designer because he could draw very well. In Wienna he first worked for the architect Wagner, then he finished his study of architecture with flying colours. He created lots of buildings in Wienna and Prague where he was highly respected. Ljubljana is decorated by a great number of his works and, because of this, it is also called Plečnik‘s Ljubljana. He died in 1957.
