Fall 2017 ENV Critical Environmental Issues: Solid Waste Technology and Management
Mondays & Wednesdays from 4:00 – 5:15 pm
This course provides an overview of the problems related to solid waste management and development of technologies and policies to decrease environmental impacts. Topics include waste management planning, source separation, recycling technology, incineration and landfilling approaches. Principles and tools for environmental assessment of waste management systems are also discussed. Canadian examples are used throughout the course to illustrate the concepts, problems and solutions.
