GENERAL ... Flying through invisible blocks of air ...
Portion of the atmosphere controlled by a country above its territory including its territorial waters (12 NM out from a nation's coastline) Any specific three-dimensional portion of the atmosphere (more generally) There are two basic types of airspace: controlled airspace uncontrolled airspace
4
GENERAL With the further development of aviation and continuous growth in traffic density was needed more complex division of airspace to accommodate all of its users and maintaining security Nowadays, the majority of airspace is divided into several layers The lowest layer is uncontrolled and the following layers are increasingly controlled Each "layer" or space belongs to a class. These classes (A, B, C, D, E, F, G) define the basic rules of flying in them and the requirements for the aircraft In addition, other areas have been designated around airports, some objects on the ground, facilities for the needs of military flights etc.

AIRSPACE OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC
Airspace management - ASM is being solved in accordance with Flexible use of airspace concept – FUA The airspace above the ground surface horizontally defined by the state borders Division of airspace Airspace structure Airspace classes FIR, (M)CTA, (M)TMA, (M)CTR Permanent ATS route, Conditional route CDR P, R, D, TRA, TSA, ATZ C D E G
6
AIRSPACE STRUCTURE FIR (M)CTA
Horizontally (the boundary of the CR) and vertically (GND - FL 660) defined airspace Flight information service and alerting service are provided Horizontally and vertically defined controlled airspace extending upwards from a specified limit above the surface of the earth ATC provided by APP/ACC or MAPP/GCI
7
AIRSPACE STRUCTURE (M)TMA (M)CTR
Horizontally and vertically defined airspace Control area usually established where the airways are converging in the vicinity of one or more major aerodromes ATC provided by APP/MAPP Horizontally and vertically defined controlled airspace extending from the ground surface to a defined height ATC provided by TWR/APP or MTWR/ MAPP
8
AIRSPACE STRUCTURE Permanent ATS route Conditional route - CDR
Specified permanent route of published network Designed for channeling the flow of traffic as necessary for the provision of Air Traffic Services Conditional route - CDR Free route airspace- FRA Temporary route segment, published in the AIP, established across temporary restricted areas. CDRs are divided into 3 categories: CDR category 1 CDR category 2 CDR category 3 The space in which aircraft operators can plan their flights on routes between free entry and exit points, regardless of the structure of the ATS route
9
AIRSPACE STRUCTURE Prohibited area - P Restricted Area - R
LKP1 5000 AMSL GND Airspace of defined dimensions, within which the flight of aircraft is prohibited Restricted Area - R Airspace of defined dimensions, within which the flights of aircraft are restricted, when is activated, and no permission has been recieved from appropriate ATS unit. There may be executed air operation or other activity of a dangerous nature LKR9 5000 AMSL GND Danger area - D LKD3 1000 AGL GND Airspace of defined dimensions, within which activities dangerous to the flight may exist (e.g. gas releasing, bomb disposal)
10
Temporary Reserved Area - TRA Temporary Segregated Area - TSA
AIRSPACE STRUCTURE Temporary Reserved Area - TRA Airspace of defined dimensions, where only the aerial operations can be conducted and through which, at the time of activation, the transit is not allowed without appropriate ATC clearance LKTRA59 FL 245 _ 5000 AMSL Temporary Segregated Area - TSA Airspace of defined dimensions, where only the aerial operations can be conducted and through which, when activated, will not be permitted to fly LKTSA27 1000AGL 300 AGL
11
Temporary restricted area
AIRSPACE STRUCTURE Aerodrome traffic zone - ATZ A zone around an airfield with a radius of 3 NM, extending from the surface to 4,000 ft AMSL, AFIS is provided LKPN 123,6 Temporary restricted area Temporary reservation of those parts of the airspace, which are not published in AIP, is made by means of NOTAM or AIP SUP, where the mode of restriction applied to conducting of flights is set down, including timeframe
