3. Introduction of RCARO Regional Cooperative Agreement (RCA)
The RCA is an inter-governmental agreement for East Asia & Pacific region, under the auspices of the IAEA, in which the Government Parties undertake, in co-operation with each other and with the IAEA to promote and co-ordinate co-operative research, development (R&D) and training projects in nuclear science and technology through their appropriate national institutes.
The RCA was established in 1972 and with the participation of 17 Member States.

To provide enhanced visibility for the RCA and developing partnerships with other International Organizations, RCA Regional Office (RCARO) was established on 27th March 2002, in KAERI, Daejeon, Korea.
