3 Locate and Click on Panopto Recordings

4 Click to Open Panopto

5 Download the Recorder

6 Select Your Operating System

8 Select Create and Record Avoid New Folder

9 Place in your Class Folder (Sub-folders limit viewer access)

10 To Record – Launch Recorder Your screen may flash and resize
To Record – Launch Recorder Your screen may flash and resize. Do not panic. It is adjusting the resolution for the recorder. It will return to normal when you exit.

11 If Using Chrome, Allow Permission to Launch Application

12 Always Select a Primary Source for Video and Audio

13 Before Recording!!! Check Your Room Lighting Check the Microphone
It is best to have the light behind the camera or overhead, not behind the speaker Check the Microphone The Panopto window will have a sound meter Check Camera Focus The speaker must be standing and the camera should show the full person, not just the upper body or head. (See next slide)

20 Recording Status: Click on Upload to Server

21 Choose a Location for the Video (You will have a folder for your specific class)

22 Title the Session and Upload

23 Wait for Uploading, Encoding, & Processing

24 After loading, hover your curser over video to get list of options or click on the icons in the upper right corner. Select Settings

25 View – Edit – Share Settings

26 View – Allows Preview of Video

27 Edit – Allows trimming, cutting, insertion and more

32 Option 1 Creating and Posting the MP4 Download
Note: This method will allow you to keep a back-up copy of your video file in the event that something happens to your submission.

33 Select Podcast Options If using PowerPoint, choose Side-by-Side
Layout and quality

34 Download Podcast Click on Download Name the File
Save to a location on your computer, flash drive, or cloud-based storage

35 Return to the Peer Team Page and Click on the Presentation Type

36 Select Your Video Format ( YouTube or Panopto) Click on the title link to download the instructions

37 Warning Not following directions may cause you to delete a team member’s video and files. Follow the instructions!!

38 After reading the instructions, Select Edit

39 Locate your name and place the curser next to the word “Video”

40 Locate and Click the Record/Upload Media Icon

41 Select Upload Media Tab and Select your Video File from the location where you saved your MP4 file location

42 After locating the file, click on OPEN to insert

43 Wait for File to Load

44 After File has loaded, click Save There may be a delay while the file converts. This is normal.

45 Return to the Presentation Page and verify that your video loaded

46 Option 2 Creating and Embedding the HTML
This process also starts with the Panopto Outputs page

Download as MP4 Embed Code for HTML Editing

49 Select and Copy the HTML Code in the Embed Box
Copy the Entire Code Require Login Settings – More Secure

50 After reading the instructions, Select Edit

52 Locate Your Insertion Point in the HTML Code
DANGER: This is where you can accidently delete another person’s video. Pay close attention to where you insert your embed code!! 1. Find your Name in the Code 2. Find the word “Video”.

53 Insert the HTML Code and Save
DANGER: This is where you can accidently delete another person’s video. Pay close attention to where you insert your embed code!! 3. Paste the copied code after the </p> following “Video”. The embed code will start with <iframe ….. 4. Click SAVE

54 Browser Blocks – Click on the Shield and Grant Permission to Load Unsafe Script
