1 Miniflow® Introduction & User Guide

2 What is Miniflow®? Constant Flow / Passive Interface
PEEP generated by the ventilator nCPAP pressure 0–20 cmH2O

3 Flexi Tubes Patented Non-kinking

4 Inner Construction Separation wall ends shortly before the adjustable hinge Reduction of dead space

5 Adjustable Hinge 45° - 60° angle
Allows better adaption to patient’s face Connector for masks/prongs

6 Equipment Assembly Typical circuit set up
Miniflow replaces patient wye

7 Accessories: Bonnets 95% Polyamide, 5% Lycra Soft and elastic
8 sizes: XXS up to XXL No head deformation Fixation strips enclosed Fixation strips available separately (3 sizes) Velcro attaches anywhere on bonnet

8 Accessories: Prongs 7 Sizes: short bi-nasal prongs 100% silicone
Micro, Small, Medium, Large or X-Large Also Medium-wide and Large- wide with wider septum distance 100% silicone Conic shape Rounded base

9 Accessories: Masks 4 Sizes: nasal masks 100% silicone
Small, Medium, Large, X-Large 100% silicone

10 Accessories: Fixation Pillow
Stable basis for Miniflow® Prevents skin damage Adds slight angle to the generator

11 Accessories: Pressure Line (BM4010)
Used with certain circuits, where there is no pressure line or other pressure measurement included

12 Accessories: Measurement Tape (BM2150)
Used as a sizing guide for… Prongs Masks Bonnets

13 Application: Measurement Tape (Prongs/Masks)
Compare template with size of nares and septum In this example the baby would require a small (S) prong and either a small (S) or medium (M) mask

14 Application: Measurement Tape (Bonnets)
Cover the nape of the neck and ears The right size can be identified on the template If roughly half-way between sizes choose the smaller size Example: XL

15 Application: General Points
Prong: as large as possible (avoids leakage) Mask: as small as possible, but often two sizes possible Attach the fixation strips before you connect to patient

16 Application: Fixation Strips
Fixation strips in prolongation of flaps Slight v-shape

17 Application: Prongs Keep distance between nasal septum and basis of prong Choose prong as large as possible! Rounded part of prongs on upper lip

18 Application: Masks With mask, angle should be wider to avoid leakage at nasal root

19 Application: Prongs Conversely, with prongs a narrow angle aids nasal entry

20 Application: Masks Mask should fit right beside the nare

21 Application: Overview
Support may be needed for heavier circuits

22 WARNING! Please don’t!!!

23 Summary What do you need? Miniflow® Bonnets Prongs/masks
Measurement tape Fixation pillow Pressure line

24 Good Luck… …and thanks for your time!
