2 Family Background The name of his father was Sheikh Lutfar Rahman and mother was Sheikh Shahara Khatun. He was the third child among four sisters and two brothers. He was married at the age of 18 with Luttfunnesa. They had two daughters and three sons

3 Why I chose him I chose him because he is the person for whom I have got a beautiful country. He is the person for whom I proudly say to everyone that I am a Bangladeshi. If there would not be an Sheikh Muzibur Rahman I may have to be the servent of West Pakistan(present Pakistan). I would not get my own government. Now I do have my own country, government, culture, language just for him. He was really a good speaker. Just for his one speech of 7 March,

1971. He called independence in his speech. Just that one speech made all the people of East Pakistan(present Bangladesh) give their life for liberation. He said in that speech that, "This struggle now is the struggle for our emancipation; the struggle now is the struggle for our independence. Joy Bangla!..Since we have given blood, we will give more blood. God-willing, the people of this country will be liberated...Turn every house into a fort. Face (the enemy) with whatever you have.”

5 He was the person who made 3 million people giving their life to write a small name on the world map Bangladesh. Who could be more bigger hero than him? This is the reason I chose him as my hero.

6 W hat has he accomplished
He was the founder of Bangladesh Sheikh Mujib became ‘Bangabandhu’(Friend of Bangla or Bangladesh) In 1970 and ‘Father of the Nation’ in 1972. He was the President of Bangladesh and Pakistan. He also was the first prime minister of Bangladesh.

7 His likes dislikes He liked to live a very simple life. He was a famous politician, but his lifestyle was very simple. His house, food and dressing style was as simple as a general citizen. He would like to believe people easily and this created many problems in his political career.

8 He was religious. He would believe in Islam.
He would dislike powerful people are torturing weak people. He would dislike if anybody would break his trust. He would like to love his people, he said, ”My strength is I love my people, my weakness is I love them too much”

9 How he got to where he is He was born in a simple village, so it was difficult for him to be the most famous politician of Bangladeshi history. Sheik Mujib began his political career as one of the founder of then East Pakistan Muslim Students League

10 Led by Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy, the Awami League was founded on 23 June 1949
In 1954 along with its allies the Awami League won the national election Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy became the fifth Prime Minister of Pakistan with Sheik Mujib as a Cabinet Minister.

11 Sheikh Mujib became a popular leader known for his socialist views and great ability of leadership and motivating people.

12 Legacy In one word the legacy of Shiekh Muzibur Rahman is Bangladesh.

13 A nationality called Bangladeshi, a language called Bangla and a culture called Bangladeshi culture.
His legacy is a new country with it’s new sun and new dreams.
