Priority 7 Adopting a 21st century curriculum, involving radical reforms- not incremental revisions - through a systematic analysis of the knowledge, skills, and values that will be needed to effectively respond to the changing global context, and more particularly, to the ever increasing complexity of the Southeast Asian economic, socio-cultural, and political environment, for which SEAMEO and the Ministries of Education could serve as the principal mechanism for promoting ASEAN integration in the learning community and in developingteachers imbued with ASEAN ideals for building the ASEAN community.

2. SEAMEO’s New Education Agenda: The Seven Priority Areas Concept Note on New Initiative
Given that the 11 SEAMEO member countries ASEAN countries have a shared way of life that includes social practices centred around music and performances,
Given that these cultural traditions are facing competition by modern innovation and performances,
Given that only the young people could continue these traditions,

3. In response to the Royal Thai Government’s policy of encouraging schools to spend more time in the afternoon in creative activities including arts and music,
In respond to a new Education Agenda on SEAMEO Seven Priority Areas , (7th area in particular)
In continuing SEAMEO SPAFA’s important contribution to the development and revival of knowledge and regional cultural practices,
