2 Log In or Set Up Account The ComEd website offers a variety of information and tools to manage your electricity usage. Today we’re going to explore the website and highlight some of the most useful areas. If your family hasn’t already registered, you will want to do this first. Your family will need their ComEd account number, your phone number and the last four digits of the Social Security number of the account holder to register. Once registered, only the address and password is required to log on. If your parent chooses to share the password with you, don’t tell anyone else. Shhh! It’s private.

3 Looking At Your Energy Use
Your smart meter allows you to track your energy usage in a number of ways. This graph looks at usage over he past year. You can see that August used the most energy while November used the least. What was happening with the weather during those months? Click View Detailed Usage on the bottom right to find out..

4 View Weather Data Click the Weather Cloud to overlay the weather information. You’ll see that in August it was about 80 degrees and in January it was about 30 degrees.

5 View Daily Usage You can see your daily usage over the period of a month. There’s a big spike in energy use on the 20th and it’s not related to weather. What could have been happening that day? It turns out, they were putting in a driveway extension and using a lot of power tools.

Once you know when you use the most energy during the day, let’s explore what uses the most energy in your house. On the left, click on What Uses Most. You will need to provide some basic information on your house and energy use. After you’ve done that, you’ll see a chart showing you the percentages different energy actions use such as appliances, heating, cooling, etc. You will also see tips for reducing energy usage in each area.

8 Ways To Save There’s more to learn under Ways to Save. Let’s look at the Energy Usage Guide.
