Who should choose? You and your child
How will we know if it is a good school? Read OFSTED report – this will comment on the leadership, teaching and learning, attainment and progress, pupil behaviour, home – school partnership, etc Talk to other parents/pupils – are they happy? Does it have a good ‘feel’ when you visit on open day? How are pupils moving around the school? Is the display good – does it value the pupil’s work? Website – does it tell you about extra curricular activities – trips abroad, work experience, events

Entry Criteria for: The Earls High School, Windsor High School and Leasowes High School
1st priority - Looked after children/Statement of Special need or disability 2nd priority - Serious ongoing medical condition 3rd priority - Sibling at same address, still in attendance at school /sixth form Any places available, once the above applicants have been admitted, will be given to those children who live closest to the school – straight line measurement in metres. (Where parents have shared responsibility for a child, and the child lives with both parents for part of the school week, then the home address will be determined as the address where the child lives for the majority of the school week. Parents will be required to provide documentary evidence to support the address they wish to be considered for allocation purposes. At least one item of proof must demonstrate where the child lives. )

How is distance measured?
Distance is in metres and is the last applicaant admitted on distance criteria - straight line measurement from your house to the main entrance point of the school.

Appeals Guidance on appeals can be found on the Dudley admissions website. You will be invited to attend the appeal hearing. You will be given the opportunity to put across the case for your child gaining a place at the school. The panels decision is final and another appeal cannot be heard until the next academic year.
