TRIM Process Overview June 1: Property appraiser provides estimate of value to taxing authorities for budget planning purposes July 1: Property appraiser certifies the taxable value to each taxing authority

TRIM Process Overview Taxing authority certifies information to the property appraiser: Prior year millage rate Current year proposed millage rate Current year rolled-back rate Date, time, and meeting place of the tentative budget hearing

TRIM Process Overview Property appraiser mails TRIM notice within 55 days of certification If DOR issues a review notice, the PA cannot mail the TRIM notice until DOR has approved the assessment roll.

Adopt tentative hearing Adopt tentative budget Hearing is published on the TRIM notice

Adopt final millage Adopt final budget Forward adopted millage information to property appraiser, tax collector, and Department of Revenue

How We Perform TRIM Compliance Process
Each taxing authority certifies compliance to Department of Revenue within 30 days of final hearing Within 60 days after final hearing: Review TRIM compliance package Notify taxing authority of compliance or non compliance
