2 Your Media Specialist Ms. Becky Wilson is the media specialist at the WCNGA. The media paraprofessional is Ms. Hannah Lowendick.

3 Remember to bring your signed agenda when you visit the media center and sign in when you arrive.

4 All materials must be checked in and out at the circulation desk

5 Check In When you enter the media center, drop the book(s) you are returning in the slot on the front of the circulation desk. Then you are ready for a new check out!

6 Check Out To check a book out, provide your student ID number to the media specialist or parapro at the circulation desk. Then pass your book under the bar code reader.

7 How can I find out what books are available?
There are two student computers just inside the entrance to the media center for looking up books in the collection.

8 FICTION Fiction books are arranged alphabetically by the author’s last name along the front wall.

9 NONFICTION BOOKS Nonfiction works are found on the wall opposite the fiction section. Although, all books in the collection have been assigned Dewey Decimal Classification numbers, they are arranged by topic.

10 Reference Reference books are located to the right of the fiction section. Reference materials are to be used in the media center. They may only be checked out at the end of the day and must be returned the next morning.

11 Newspapers Your media center subscribes to the Gainesville Times daily and the White County News weekly. Students and faculty are welcome to read the current papers in the media center. Older issues are stacked below the rack and may be taken at any time.

12 Periodicals Your media center subscribes to a number of periodicals which can be found on these shelves on the back wall. Again, students and faculty are welcome to peruse periodicals in the media center. Older issues are available in the reading nook for free.

13 Research/Work Area Classes may sign up to use the tables for research or projects through the online reservation system.

14 Media Center Office The media center office is directly behind the circulation desk. Here is your media specialist, Ms. Wilson, hard at work!

15 Media Computers Computers are for school work only!
Beyond the circulation desk is the media computer center. There are 30 computers for student and faculty use. Classes may sign up using the online reservation system. Students may use the computers before/after school, during break, and with the permission of their teachers. Computers are for school work only!

16 WORK CENTER A work area is provided for both faculty and student use. Materials such as paper, scissors, and glue are available in addition to the die and paper cutters.

17 The current Galileo password is displayed right inside the entrance for your convenience.

18 The newest addition to our media center is the growing collection of play-aways for check out by students.

19 Georgia Peach Award Winners
The Georgia Peach Books are located at the circulation desk for easy access by the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl team members and any other students who like a good book!

20 Finding a quiet spot to read at school is sometimes difficult!
The NGA media center has two comfortable, quiet options!

21 Art and class projects are frequently displayed in your media center.

22 Circulation Policy Students may check out 2 books at a time.
Overdue notices will be distributed to students in Freshman Focus. Students will not be allowed to check out another book until any overdue books are returned.

23 Library Hours 7:30 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. Monday – Friday
Your media center is open during the following hours: 7:30 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. Monday – Friday Later hours may be arranged by request with your media specialist.
