Your lab notebook You need to purchase a spiral notebook that consists of more than 70 sheets of paper to use for your lab notebook. You must decorate and label your lab notebook. You also need to have tab dividers to separate each journal entry.

Step 1: Problem Statement (5)
Copy from lab Data Sheet Comments: Step 6: Results (20) Results can recorded in data tables. Data Tables should be neat and organized Results can be recorded on graphs. Graphs should have a title and both axis should be labeled. This step must be completed on graph paper. Step 2: Brainstorm/Research (10) Research background information that will assist you in your lab design. Step 7: Conclusion (20) Your conclusion should discuss your results. What factors could have affected the outcome of your results? What could you have differently to achieve the correct results? How would you redesign your experiment? How does your results prove or disprove your purpose? This should be a minimum of 5 sentences and needs to include a picture. Step 3: Record Ideas (5) Write or draw three different ideas. Step 8: Re-Design (5) Start from Step #5 with a new model, if a redesign is necessary. If a redesign is not needed, just skip this step. classwork Today, you will repeat the Marshmallow Challenge, using the Engineering Design Process. You may write on notebook paper for this lab , but you need to have your lab notebook ready for our next lab. You and your partners should complete Steps 1, 2, 3, and 4 by the end of the class period. Tomorrow you will build your new structure determined by Step #4, and complete Steps #’s 5, 6, and 7. You have my permission TODAY to use your cell phones to conduct your background research if you don’t have your lap-tops.
