3 1 Jesus was crucified. A very attractive personality. Strong in mind and body. Down to earth. Courageous. A magnetic leader. A man of extraordinary authority. Not confused or unsure of himself or of his mission. Very human. His coming was expected is surely the most famous, honored, and best loved person who ever walked the earth. He split history in two: BC & AD Three things that make Jesus an absolutely unique figure in human history a young carpenter in Nazareth. an itinerant preacher. a traveler. 2 What was he like? Is Jesus worthy to be the center of my life?
Is there more to him? YES. Is Jesus worthy to be the center of my life? Because HE IS GOD!
9
Jesus himself told us so.
Jesus claimed to be God. Mk 14:61-62 Jesus speaks of his divinity. Jn 12:45, 10:30, 8:58. By his miracles? (Jn 14:12.) Jesus himself told us so. How do we know HE is God? Time and again,

If you had gone to Socrates and asked, 'Are you Zeus
If you had gone to Socrates and asked, 'Are you Zeus?', he would have laughed at you. If you would have gone to Mohammed and asked, 'Are you Allah?', he would first have rent his clothes then cut your head off. If you had asked Confucius, 'Are you heaven?', I think he would have probably replied, 'Remarks which are not in accordance with nature are in bad taste'.

Story of the paralytic at Capernaum. Mk 2:3‑12.
"Now unless the speaker is God, this is really so preposterous as to be comic. We can all understand how a man forgives offenses against himself. You tread on my toe and I forgive you, you steal my money and I forgive you. But what should we make of a man, himself unrobbed and untrodden on, who announced that he forgave you for treading on other men's toes and stealing other men's money? Jesus' claim to divinity is a far different claim than Buddha or Confucius or Mohammed ever made. None of them ever claimed to be God. The idea of a great moral teacher saying what Christ said is out of the question. In my opinion, the only person who can say that sort of thing is either God or a complete lunatic suffering from that form of delusion which undermines the whole mind of man“ C.S. Lewis Story of the paralytic at Capernaum. Mk 2:3‑12.

? Liar, Lunatic, or Lord. Could Jesus have lied? A hypocrite A demon
A fool ?
13
Such man cannot be a liar.
Look at his moral purity, dignity, sound intellect, air of truth. Consider his character that is so original, perfect, consistent, high above human greatness. He carried out a plan of unparalleled beneficence, moral magnitude and sublimity, and sacrificed his own life for it. Would he die for a lie? The results of his life and teachings have been lives changed for the better, thieves made honest, hateful individuals becoming channels of love, etc. Such man cannot be a liar.
14
Could Jesus have been a lunatic?
In Jesus we do not see any abnormalities or imbalance. He spoke some of the most profound sayings ever recorded. ? ? ? Such man cannot be a lunatic.
15
He was, and is, the Son of God.
Simon Peter. Mt 16:13‑16. Martha. Jn 11:27. Nathanael. Jn 1:49. Thomas. Jn 20:27‑28. The centurion. Mt 27:54. Even the evil spirits. Mt 8:29, Mk 1:24, Mk 3:11, Lk 4:41.
16
God confirmed Jesus' claim.
God Himself confirmed it. In the miracle of the raising of Lazarus from the dead. Jn 11:41‑42. But the most conclusive proof is Jesus' own resurrection from the dead.
17
Jesus is a man whose words and life demand a response from us
Jesus is a man whose words and life demand a response from us. He is making claims that affect us. If he is not God, then we should have nothing to do with him, because we do not want to be followers of a liar or a lunatic. But if he is God, then we should seriously consider him. Our response will have eternal consequences.
