GOAL: The YELLOW Corners
PP2 GOAL: The YELLOW Corners The goal of this stage is to reposition the YELLOW corners on the UP face, to match the center piece color on all faces of the TOP layer.

REVIEW from The YELLOW Cross
Look at the YELLOW face. Match the YELLOW face with: The single YELLOW center piece and follow the algorithm: The YELLOW right angle corner and follow the algorithm: The single YELLOW line down the middle row of the YELLOW face and follow the algorithm: PP3 REVIEW from The YELLOW Cross To get the YELLOW cross:

REVIEW from the YELLOW Face
Position the YELLOW cross so that it matches one of the following: No YELLOW corner pieces on the UP face and the LEFT/FRONT UP corner has a YELLOW piece on the LEFT face. One YELLOW corner is on the UP face and the LEFT/FRONT/UP corner has a YELLOW piece on the UP face. Any two YELLOW corner pieces on the UP face and the LEFT/FRONT/UP corner has a YELLOW piece on the FRONT face. Use the algorithm: Reposition and use the same algorithm until all UP face corners are YELLOW. PP4 REVIEW from the YELLOW Face To get the YELLOW face:

A&B are on the BACK layer
PP6 Make sure the YELLOW face is the UP face. Twist the UP face to see if the TOP layer corners can be placed in the correct position (matching their respective RED, BLUE, ORANGE, and GREEN faces). If all 4 corners match the center piece on all faces, the YELLOW corners have been achieved. If the corners do not match: Twist the UP face to see if any 2 horizontal corners (shown as A&B or C&D) match the center piece color on all three faces. Position the cube so the matching horizontal corners are on the BACK layer. Lesson Focus A&B are on the BACK layer

If you do not have two horizontal corners to to work with: Twist the UP face until one set of diagonal corners (shown as AD or BC) match the center piece color on all three faces. Follow the algorithm 1x to achieve 2 horizontal corners (AB or CD). Re-position the cube so the matching horizontal corners are on the BACK layer. Repeat the algorithm to solve the remaining 2 horizontal layer corners. PP7 Lesson Focus A&B corners are on the BACK layer

PP8 If you cannot find matching horizontal or diagonal corners, do the algorithm until you do have matching horizontal corners or matching diagonal corners. Be sure to check for matches after every completion of the algorithm. Troubleshooting

REVIEW With YELLOW as the UP face
Find a face (other than the YELLOW or WHITE faces) that has matching TOP layer corners: Twist the UP face until two horizontal corners (shown as AB or CD) match with the center piece color on all three faces. If you do not have two horizontal corners matching on the TOP layer: Twist the UP face until one set of diagonal corners (shown as AD or BC) match with the center piece color on all three faces. Follow the algorithm 1x to achieve 2 horizontal corners (AB or CD) Position the cube so that the matching horizontal corners are on the BACK layer. Lesson Extension To solve a problem, sometimes you have
to approach it in a different way. When solving for the YELLOW corners, if you can’t find matching horizontal corners on the TOP layer, then you can use matching diagonal corners. When solving for a math problem, if you can’t solve a problem one way, then a different approach might help you solve the problem better.
