1 Kids Budget Bingo To set up your Bingo board To play the game
Teach your kids about the rewards of saving by using this Budget Bingo template. Come up with ideas of how they can save money on a weekly basis. Write those Savings Ideas onto the Savings Ideas board on the left. (Examples: bring lunch from home, use water bottle, etc.). On the Bingo board on the right, write how much you estimate that you’re saving on a daily basis for each of those Savings Ideas (i.e., bringing lunch saves $3, using water bottle saves $2.50). The Savings Idea placed in the first box of the “Savings Idea” board should correspond with the amount in the first box of the “$” board. Select the grouped “Savings Idea” board and move it to the right directly over the “$” board, hiding all of the dollar values. Once the Savings Idea board is moved, a Notes section will be revealed underneath. To play the game Each time your child makes a good conscious decision, delete that corresponding Savings Idea from the Bingo board. The box marked “$ FREE” is a free square for them to remove at the beginning of the week in order to get them going. Once you get five removed Savings Ideas in a row, you’ve got a Bingo! Add up their dollar values to calculate the weekly savings amount. Sit together as a family to discuss how the kids will be rewarded for successfully implementing saving techniques into their week.
