Year 9 Subject Selection – Computer Aided Design
2
Course Description Using the Engineering Design Cycle, students will address a design problem, through the use of innovative technology and creative design skills. Students will learn how to visualize a drawing in 2D and 3D formats utilizing the computer, how to operate Computer Numerical Control machines (3D Printers), and produce a physical object of their design. Additionally students will assist in the assembly of a 3D Printer, and understand how it functions, the electrical components, principals and theories and how instructions are interrupted by the machine.

What we Study? Work Tasks Assessment tasks
Students choose from a range of design problems. They prepare a Brief, Research, Investigate, Design and produce a solution. This is presented in a Design Folio, which demonstrates the process the student went about solving the problem.
