1. Using Order Comms for syndromic requesting of serology tests
We get many ‘mis-requested’ specimens. For instance, hepatitis B e antibody (for hepatitis E); or hepatitis B core antibodies, instead of surface antibodies. There is often confusion about common problems, like which tests to do when after an inoculation injury.
Syndromic ordering provides evidence based order sets that should alleviate these problems.

3. Select appropriate ‘syndrome group’ from pop-op window
If there is no syndrome group that describes your patient then choose ‘Individual tests’

4. Click on the specific syndrome that best describes your patient

5. 1. You need to double click each test in the order set
2. Requested tests appear here
3. Click close when finished

6. 1. You can see all requested tests here
2. You can order more tests if required

At the moment we cannot see that you have used a predefined order set – you can just write the name of the order set you have chosen if you like.
4. Finish or Save the request as usual
