Children will be responsible for their money. All money should be brought in a purse, which should be clearly named. There is no fruit provided at break time. Children can bring their own healthy morning snack from home, e.g. piece of fruit or a cereal bar. No crisps, chocolate or cakes please. Hot dinners – children bring dinner money and pay on the day. Choice of either meat, vegetarian or jacket potato. Children can choose on the day. (£2.15) At the start of lunchtime, all of the children go out into the playground & wait to be called in for lunch.

Afternoons Longer than in KS1, finishing at 3.15pm.
Afternoon playtime: 2.10 – 2.20pm.
6
Daily routines Basic structure of the day is the same, i.e. English/Maths and guided reading in the morning and Topics in the afternoons. At the start of the day the children will begin with a ‘Morning Challenge’.
7
Assemblies Mainly held in the Upper School Hall.
Special Mention still on Friday- return cup for following Thursday.
8
Reading Children will bring their book bags home every day.
Reading - children are asked to read at least three times a week, from a free choice book. We ask parents to hear their child read and check their understanding of what they have read. This information should be recorded in the child’s reading diary. Guided reading books are not sent home in KS2. Children read their guided books at a more challenging level in school with the class teacher so the home readers are there for them to practise and enjoy. Children may change their home readers as soon as they have finished them. The Class Teacher will direct them to the correct level. Extra support or extension work will be given to children within school, as appropriate to their current learning needs.
9
Homework All children are encouraged to spend time learning their multiplication tables. Homework: Small weekly tasks in Maths or English or both! There will also be a termly project linked to current topic. The children are encouraged to use ICT resources and the use of information books either at home or in the library.

P.E AND FOREST SCHOOLS Children will need an indoor and outdoor PE kit with names on. Please can the children have trainers for outdoor PE. We are hoping to continue Forest Schools in the first half term but may not continue through the year. We have a lot to fit in in Year 3! Please can children have waterproofs and wellies for that day. Details will be on website.
