1 Remediation Report Bixby Middle School

2 PAST PLAN All FAY/NON-FAY students that received a less than a satisfactory score on a Math or Reading OCCT exam were enrolled in an ACE Math or ACE reading (or both) class. Students were able to test out of the class after the end of first and second trimester In addition students were also able to attend a Spring after school academy or a Summer Math academy.

3 Past results 32 current 9th graders were identified as in need of math remediation. 30 received remediation services, took the test and 10 passed 33% 46 current 8th graders were identified as in need of math remediation. 37 received remediation services, took the test and 16 passed 43% 41 current 9th graders were identified as in need of reading remediation. 34 received remediation services, took the test and 8 passed 24% 37 current 8th graders were identified as in need of reading remediation. 30 received remediation services, and 14 passed 47% OVERALL 131 scores of below satisfactory were remediated. 48 of those scores were raised to above satisfactory level for a passage rate of 37%

4 CURRENT CHALLENGE 66 8th graders identified as in need of reading remediation (19-Unsatisfactory 47-LK) 63-8th graders identified as in need of math remediation (26-Unsatisfactory 37-LK) 77- 7th graders identified as in need of reading remediation (17-Unsatisfactory 60 LK) 71- 7th graders identified as in need of math remediation (27-Unsatisfactory 44 LK)

5 CURRENT PLAN ACE Reading Remediation
Students who score Unsatisfactory on the Reading OCCT will be enrolled in ACE Reading for the entire school year. Three sections of reading remediation will be provided for Unsatisfactory students for the entire school year. Students will be allowed to exit at the end of each trimester provided they test proficient Students who score Limited Knowledge on the Reading OCCT will be enrolled in ACE Reading for one trimester. One section will be provided for ACE Reading remediation for 1st trimester, three sections for 2nd trimester and three sections for 3rd Trimester for Limited Knowledge students. Each student will be pre and post tested for measure of program effectiveness ACE Math Remediation Students who score Unsatisfactory on the Math OCCT will be enrolled in ACE Math for the entire school year. Two sections of math remediation will be provided for Unsatisfactory students for the entire school year. To exit at the end of the 1st or 2nd Trimester, a student must score 50% or better on the benchmark exam for the current grade level. Students who score Limited Knowledge on the Math OCCT will be enrolled in ACE Math for one trimester. Three sections of math remediation will be provided for Limited Knowledge students for 2nd trimester and three sections will be provided for 3rd trimester. Each student will be pre and post tested for measure of program effectiveness
