2 The Olympic Games is an international sports festival that began in ancient Greece.

3 Originally, the Olympic Games were held every four years for several centuries  until they were completed in 1896, and subsequently they are organized  every four years, except for the time when they were World War I and  World War II .

4 Perhaps the main difference between the ancient and modern Olympic Games is  that for the ancient Greeks the games were way recoil honor their gods , while, as the modern Games are a way to honor the impact athletic  talent of people of all nations

5 Originally, the Olympic Games also included  competitions in music, oratory and theatrical performances. Modern  Olympic Games do not have them, but they are much more sports than ever  before. For two and a half weeks, all international conflicts should be  stopped and replaced with a friendly competition . This noble idea,  which is based on the modern Olympic movement .

6 The earliest record  of the Olympics back to 776 BC, but historians think that the game  started long before then. The ancient Games were held in honor of Zeus,  the most important god of the ancient Greeks. According to the earliest records, only one sporting event was held at the  ancient Olympics - foot race of about 183 meters, or the length of the  stadium.

7 Only men were allowed to watch the games
Only men were allowed to watch the games . At the Olympics, the 18th  century has included the fight and the pentathlon. Games winners highly  praised and honored for their results . In 349 BC. e . Games were  officially completed by the Roman emperor Theodosius, who felt that they had a pagan significance.

8 Pierre de Coubertin, a young French nobleman who had the idea to bring the Olympic Games to life. With the help of the people who supported him, he managed to organize the first modern Olympic Games in Baron de Coubertin had planned to hold the Olympic Games in France, but the representatives of nine  countries that supported his idea, and decided that Greece was the right lace to host the first Olympic games.The nine countries were Belgium, England, France, Greece, Italy, Russia, Spain, Sweden and the  United States . They agreed that every four years the Olympic Games will move to other big cities in the world .

Athens Games in 1896  were a success. Athlets from thirteen countries competed in nine sports. The second Olympiad was held in France in Summer Olympics  were held in Athens, Greece, and took 201 countries . USA took first  place. And Russia 3rd place.

10 Starting in 1924 the Winter Olympics were included
Starting in 1924 the Winter Olympics were included . They were held in the same year as the Summer Games, but starting in 1994 , Winter Games held two years after the Summer Games 

11  Olympics manages  the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne, Switzerland
