The Year 9 theme for Monday Period 6 is ‘Community and Enrichment’
Throughout the course of next year, you will complete: 1 volunteering programme of either 3 or 6 months 1 skill programme of either 3 or 6 months You will have choices in the programmes you complete and you will need to fill out an Options Sheet to indicate your preferences.

What's involved? Volunteering: undertaking service to individuals or the community (Monday Period 6 programmes can be used for this section) Skills: developing practical and social skills and personal interests (Monday Period 6 programmes can be used for this section) Physical: improving in an area of sport, dance or fitness activities Expedition: planning, training for and completion of an adventurous journey in the UK or abroad

Bronze Award Volunteering Physical Skills Expedition 3 months
Plan, train for and complete a 2 day, 1 night expedition All participants must undertake a further 3 months in the Volunteering or Skills section.

Expedition There will be between 5 and 7 of you in an expedition team
With your team you will; Plan an aim for your expedition Map and plan the route you will take Complete training to make sure you are fully prepared Once you’ve done the preparation, you will then go out on your practice and assessment expedition weekends

Qualities needed to take part..
Full commitment Willingness to attend some after school and weekend activities Trustworthy Good behaviour – in and out of school Leadership skills

Application Letters will be sent home today regarding Monday Period 6 and Duke of Edinburgh Applications Option Sheets will be in tutor folders at PM tutor They must be handed in to the Office by Friday 9th June If you wish to join the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme you will need to select this option at the bottom of the Options Sheet
