2. History
Construction of Abakan thermal power plant began in 1972 with the construction of the production building peak-starting the boiler. 10 years after the start of construction, Abakan Thermal electric power plant was put into operation in 1982 and had one boiler BKZ- 420 Barnaul Boiler Plant and the 65 MW turbine generator. April 18, 1982 was developed the first megawatt-hour of electricity. This day is considered the birthday of Abakan thermal power plant. Currently, Abakan Thermal electric power plant has an installed electric capacity of 270 MW.
